A flower that looks exactly like its name — a crane or exotic bird caught mid-flight, with a crest of orange sepals and a tongue of vivid blue rising from a green beak-like bract. Strikingly sculptural and long-lasting once cut, it is a favourite of Grenadian gardeners and florists.
