Grenada Dove
Where to See It Mt Hartman and Perseverance dry forest, south-west Grenada, with a licensed guide

Found nowhere else on Earth, this shy ground dove is the soul of Grenada, and one of the most endangered doves in the world, with fewer than one hundred birds left in the wild. Its plumage is a quiet masterpiece of olive brown, a pure white face and a soft pink breast. You are far more likely to hear it than see it — listen, in the still of the dry forest, for a single haunting note that falls away like a question.
