Magnificent Frigatebird
Where to See It High over the coast, harbours and the Carenage

The pirate of the Caribbean sky. With a wingspan well over two metres and a deeply forked tail, the frigatebird soars for hours, often without a single flap. It rarely lands on water, preferring to harry other seabirds into dropping their catch. The male, in courtship, inflates a startling scarlet throat pouch like a balloon.
