Grenada Tree Boa

Corallus grenadensis

Grenada Tree Boa
Where to See It Trees and forest by night, island-wide, on a guided walk

Grenada's very own snake, found only here and in the Grenadines, and entirely harmless to people. By day it rests coiled in the branches; by night it comes alive to hunt lizards and small prey, the heat-sensing pits along its lips guiding it through the dark. No two are quite alike, with colours running from gold to grey to chestnut. A guided night walk in the forest is the way to meet one.
