Allamanda

Allamanda cathartica

Allamanda
Where to See It Fences, pergolas and roadside hedges island-wide

A vigorous climbing vine that drapes fences and pergolas with big, glossy, golden-yellow trumpets. Cheerful and almost endlessly in flower, the allamanda is one of the bright colours of a Grenadian roadside. Handsome as it is, its milky sap can irritate the skin, so it is one to admire rather than handle.
