Grenada Tree Anole

Anolis richardii

Grenada Tree Anole
Where to See It Walls, fences and tree trunks, everywhere

The bright-eyed little lizard you will see all day, doing press-ups on a wall or fence post. The male flares a colourful throat-fan to claim his patch and impress a mate. Grenada and its neighbours have several anoles found nowhere else, a quiet marvel of island evolution playing out on every garden wall and veranda rail.
