Pink Crab-claw Heliconia

Heliconia chartacea

Pink Crab-claw Heliconia
Where to See It Shady gardens and forest edges, the central hills

A heliconia like no other, this is the pink cousin of the hanging lobster claw, its long stem dripping with rose-pink bracts edged in green and lime. Florists adore it, and so do hummingbirds. A single flowering stem can be longer than your arm, a slow cascade of colour beside a shady path.
